Our Favourite Jewellery Gifted to The Duchess of Sussex

The Engagement Ring

Both Kate and Meghan’s dazzling engagement rings are royal heirlooms passed down to them. Kate’s iconic sapphire and diamond halo ring was famously once owned by Princess Diana. The ring was then gifted to Kate by Prince William for their engagement.

Meghan’s engagement ring was a yellow gold ring which featured two diamonds from his mother Diana’s collection and a large central stone from Botswana (where Harry and Meghan enjoyed a holiday together in the first days of their relationship.)

The Tiara

Meghan’s marriage to Harry saw Meghan wear a sparkling diamond bandeau Tiara which dates back to 1892. This tiara was lent to Meghan by Queen Elizabeth II. It was originally gifted to Queen Elizabeth II by Queen Mary in 1953. The beautiful art deco tiara is said not to have been Meghan’s first choice. It is rumoured that Meghan requested to wear an emerald headpiece, however her request was refused by The Queen as the provenance of this piece could not be verified and it was not clear if its origins were Russian.

Whilst we don’t know what conversation was had between Meghan and The Queen behind the doors of Buckingham Palace we do know that Meghan looked as dazzling as diamonds on her big day and the tiara looked perfect.

The Aquamarine Cocktail Ring

One of our favourite items of royal jewellery is the aquamarine cocktail ring worn by Meghan at her second wedding reception alongside her beautiful halter neck Stella Mcartney dress.

This ring was also gifted to her by her husband Harry and was also once owned by his late mother Diana and represented the ‘something borrowed’ item for her wedding.

 Diamond and Pearl Drop Earrings

These pretty earrings were given to Meghan by The Queen for their first outing together to Cheshire. It is common for royals not to wear diamonds in the day so as to not appear flashy so pearls are a popular choice.

Meghan’s pearl earrings also matched The Queens pearl earrings of the day and they were pictured smiling and laughing together.

Pearl Necklace from Fiji

During their overseas tour Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex travelled to the island of Fiji.

Meghan Markle Pearls in Fiji

It was here that Meghan was given a beautiful pearl necklace from the President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote and the First Lady Sarote Konrote. The pearls were farmed by J Hunter Pearls in Savusavu in Fiji using the most exceptional pearls from their harvest.
